WOMANSONG IS OPEN TO WOMEN WHO LOVE TO SING
Membership Information - 2023
We welcome visitors who may be interested in joining and want to get acquainted.
We currently have openings in all sections, and we ask prospective members to visit two rehearsals (live or zoom) to experience the variety of our music and style. After two visits, we will schedule you for an audition.
We meet Monday evenings from 7-9 pm in person (When in Concert Mode, 6 weeks before performance, we rehearse 6:30-9:00)
Rehearsals are simultaneously live-streamed on Zoom for women who temporarily cannot attend in person.
Our rehearsals are held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville (UUCA), 1 Edwin Place, Asheville 28801.
IMPORTANT: For the Spring 2023 season (January-May 2023), all women who sing with Womansong -- including prospective members visiting rehearsals -- must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. In addition, we are currently requiring all singers to wear masks at all times indoors. Please read our Covid Guidelines.
For more information or to arrange a visit, contact us.

Womansong Attendance Expectations – Spring 2023
In order to ensure quality across the ensemble, it is expected that you will miss no more than 3 rehearsals throughout the regular rehearsal season, January 16th – April 10th. For pre-planned absences such as travel, please sign out on google to assist the directors in rehearsal planning. Once we enter “concert mode” (April 17th), attendance at all rehearsals is essential other than for the most extenuating circumstances, which should be communicated directly and as soon as possible with the Artistic Director.
In fairness to others, singers who accumulate more than three absences will be asked to pass a Singing Check before being cleared to perform. Singing checks will run like auditions and be evaluated by the Artistic Director, Assistant Artistic Director, and Music Section Leader prior to the beginning of concert mode. Those who are unable to pass the singing check will be asked to participate in the concert in a non-performance role.
Please continue to communicate with your Administrative Section Leader regarding all absences. We like to hear from you and make sure you are okay!
Thank you for your commitment to Womansong!
