​On Monday, March 22 from 7-8:30 Womansong is hosting a workshop on gospel singing led by Dr. Kathy Bullock, Professor Emeritus of music at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. The workshop will be held on Zoom, and women throughout Western North Carolina are invited to attend.
 
Those who attended Kathy’s February workshop got a taste of her dynamic style. At the March workshop she will discuss the origins of gospel choir music and will teach vocal styles used in gospel music including tone quality, rhythm/syncopation, and improvisation. Expect to experiment with vocal and rhythm exercises, learn parts by ear, and sing uplifting songs together. Or just come and listen.
