This concert in celebration of Womansong’s new CD featured some of the CD’s 19 songs, chosen to nurture those who are experiencing a difficult or painful time—coping with illness, coming to terms with death or grieving a loss, experiencing emotional exhaustion, or simply feeling alone in the world. At these times, music can soothe the spirit and offer comfort and hope.
The title song, I Will Carry You, was written by Womansong member Lytingale. The CD also includes songs by local composers Sue Ford and William Stanhope, as well as well-known, uplifting songs of support such as Bridge Over Troubled Water, Hallelujah the Great Storm is Over, and Lean on Me.We are in the second run of this CD, the first having sold out within weeks of the concert.
